Medical Hero Is First in U.S. to Receive Covid Vaccine

On Monday, Dec. 14, critical care nurse Sandra Lindsay at Long Island Jewish Medical Center became the first person in the United States to get the Pfizer vaccine. Nurses are heroes and not only on the frontlines of the pandemic, now they are stepping up to be the first to get the vaccine. –By Brian Hurlburt, Magnifying Excellence Podcast host.

“I feel like healing is coming,” Lindsay said. “I hope this marks the beginning to the end of a very painful time in our history.”

According to NPR.com, Lindsay thanked all of her colleagues on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19. And she urged others to take the vaccine, saying she places her trust in science.

My wife is a pediatric ER nurse and in line soon to get the vaccine. Thank you to all health care workers … and that is something we should all agree upon.
